Good Vibes Only! Not a chance...
Apr 20, 2023We hear it all the time...Good Vibes...Have you ever stopped to think about what that phrase means to you?
As you might imagine, I have. I'm drawn to anything positive, so naturally, I like the sound of it! Good vibes. For me, it's a statement about energy. The vibration you feel - either within or around you - and good is good. I rely on my "vibes" to help me navigate my world. My goal is always to get back to clear, calm. uplifted energy as my normal state. But, there are times for both "good" and "bad" vibes. The phrase "good vibes only" does not work for me. All vibes, or energetic frequencies, are available to us and all can serve us in some capacity. It's our job to observe these vibes and determine what they mean. Next up is to decide how we want to create our world by using them to our advantage. I believe the energy we feel is our guidance system. Stay with me.
Let's take "bad vibes" first - feeling negative emotions. Bad vibes can be a warning from your intuition, they can be a sadness caused by something we perceive as tragic or unfair, they can be caused by lack of sleep, feeling hungry or, if you're like me, when things are disorganized. Each of these feelings/emotions can be used as guidance - like get the heck out of here when you're intuition is sounding the alarms. Similarly, your body's queues for things like I need food or sleep (or good grief, clean this disaster area up!) help you to know what your body needs now.
But what about those vibes that arise from sadness, or unjust situations, or feelings of hopelessness? How do these serve us? Who wants to feel bad? Who wants to experience tragedy? Likely none of us really do. But it's there. It's part of our human experience. So what do we do with them?
Short answer is we feel them. All of them - fully. It is critical for living our best life that we process these shit vibes. If we don't, they get suppressed and stuck and find their way out violently when we yell at our family or the opposite, completely retreat from our lives in depression or leave us filled with anxiety and mental chaos. DEFINITELY not cohesive for living out our best lives.
Okay, so how do we process these emotions? We feel them. Let them move through your body. Cry. Yell. Do a HIIT workout. Anything to experience the emotion and then LET IT GO. This helps us remember that all emotions are temporary. And this allows us space to go back and look at the situation differently...asking questions like - how has this helped me to grow? Have I increased my compassion? Have a found an area I can serve in to make the world a better place? Have I become more aware for next time?
It's okay if you find yourself angry, upset, anxious, insert emotion again. It's just another opportunity to look at it and process it.
This is what healing is all about.
If I'm feeling "bad" or down or low, I check in with myself to really understand why. Sometimes, it just a passing thought that I have to recall to understand why I'm feeling that way - like, oh yeah, I still need to get that laundry done or shoot, I forgot to email that teacher. Other times, it's because something happened that is clearly upsetting to me, such as losing a loved one, that doesn't need much introspection to identify, it just is. But I make sure to FEEL IT so that I can grow and get better.
That's what I'm here to do.
What about good vibes? They're good, right? Absolutely. But now we know that bad vibes serve us, too. So what if good vibes can do more than just make us happy for a moment. What if they, too are guidance? Guidance toward our purpose. Guidance toward living the life we were put on this earth to live. Are you with me? Sounds like figuring out what feels good to us is really important.
It's safe to say the things that will help you feel good are things you want...so what do you want? It's entirely up to you and I believe NOTHING is off limits. Who's to say the things you desire won't lead you right to your very purpose on this earth?
Figure out what makes you feel your best:
What job/work?
How you want to be in service?
How do you want to dress?
How much money do you want to make?
How do you want to look?
How do you want to feel?
Decide what you want so that you can feel good vibes. Because when you do - you know you're on your unique path. And the more you feel good, the more good things come into your life...
OMG - couple finding our life's purpose with attracting more good things into our life as we continue to feel good - HOW MAGICAL!!! I can only believe that a God of abundance created this process. How lucky are we to have this available to us?
We either grow in good or we grow in bad and we were given a gift of free will allowing us to decide how it goes for us.
